Associate Director

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Director to join our York office. Reporting to Planning Directors, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading projects, managing client relationships, and driving the growth and success of our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and visionary professional to make a significant impact within a forward-thinking company.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Town Planning.

• Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in planning and design consultancy.

• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.

• Proficiency in relevant software is desirable

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a diverse range of planning and design projects from inception to completion.

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the highest level of service and satisfaction.

• Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on planning and design matters.

• Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications and related documentation.

• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.

• Contribute to business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals.

• Represent nineteen47 at meetings, presentations, and public consultations.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
